The
Difference
The Home Company Difference... Experience You Can Count
On!
There are several factors to consider when you decide
who should inspect your home. First and foremost the inspector
should be experienced and knowledgeable. The Home Company’s
Inspectors possess a level of training and experience
second to none. The Home Company’s Inspectors and
Consultants are specially certified. We train our inspectors
as well as our employees to meet high standards. Such
experience includes at least 5 years of successful residential
construction experience in a supervisory role as a lead
carpenter or contractor. Even with this expertise, they
must go through intense training, testing and field observation.
This level of assurance far outweighs the requirements
of any association.
Other
Differences…
Training is ongoing for our inspectors/consultants as
we take continuing education seriously. Technical training
classes are held periodically throughout the year to keep
our inspectors informed and up to date with any new methods,
local codes and requirements, as well as provide a way
for us to double check our own quality control.
- All The Home Company Inspectors have at least five years
of residential construction experience in a supervisory
role as a lead carpenter of contractor.
- All The Home Company Inspectors are residential renovation
consultant experts. The requirements to become such a
consultant far outweigh requirements of inspections alone.
- All The Home Company Inspectors are salaried employees
and are scheduled through a central scheduling department.
This format insures a team effort as well as operational
quality control, which is harder to attain when you sub-contract
out to independent contractors. At The Home Company, our
inspectors can dedicate their full time and attention
to each and every inspection so as to give the client
the thorough service they deserve.

Services available to the homebuyers and sellers, such

The
Inspection Process
On-Site Inspection:
Our professional, trained inspectors will provide a comprehensive
evaluation of your selected property. Available immediately
upon completion of the inspection, you will receive a
report containing the inspector's findings and analysis.
The real estate agent is also provided with a summary
report of the findings. Our inspectors provide you with
a comprehensive home Inspection to give the status of
critical items in your home.
The
evaluation includes the following:
- Electrical Circuitry: A thorough check of components
providing fusing, switching system, equipment ground and
correct polarity to determine that the current is safely
controlled
- Plumbing: Consisting of piping and fixture groups designed
to deliver drinking water, control sanitation at the point
of usage, remove wastewater, and keep sewer gas out of
the home
- Heating & Cooling Systems: includes operation of
heating, exhaust, distribution, refrigeration, and other
equipment used for maintaining the climate of the structure.
- Major Appliances: Found in the kitchen, laundry, and
elsewhere are checked out for operability and damage.
- Roof/Structural Components: Covers components including
roofing membranes, gutters and downspouts, roof decking
and rafters, ventilation and insulation. Moisture, thermal
protection and structural supports are the focus here.
- Site work Encompasses walks, drives, patios and the
grading of surrounding lawn. Basic concern is if these
areas will generate unusual drainage conditions.
- Foundation: Includes important elements that provide
the primary load bearing assemblies for the structure
and control water penetration into the structure.
- Fireplace/Chimney: Areas addressed include chimney alignment,
chimney structure, chimney caps, dampers, and condition
of firebrick.
